
What insurances do you take?
We are in network with Blue Cross Blue Shield PPO and Blue Cross Blue Choice insurances and Aetna PPO (including Northwestern University Student Health Insurance). Depending on other PPO plans we may be able to bill to your plan and have a portion covered. Please contact our billing department for more details!
Do you take United Healthcare, United Behavioral Health, or Optum insurance?
We are not in-network with these plans and unfortunately are unable to bill them as out of network providers.
Do you take Medicare or Medicaid?
We are unable to accept Medicare or Medicaid at this time.
Do you offer sliding scale services?
Yes! If you do not have insurance coverage for therapy each of our postdoctoral fellows holds a few sliding scale slots for reduced fee counseling. Please reach out to our reception team or fill out the scheduling form to inquire about this option!
What is the process to start therapy?
Please fill out the scheduling form to get started. Our goal is to have everything situated before you have the first session with your therapist.
Do you prescribe medication?
We do not have psychiatry services at Mindful Psychology Associates, but work with some trusted psychiatrists that can collaborate care for our therapy clients
Do you provide Emotional Support Animal paperwork/certification?
We are unable to provide this service at this time.
Do I need to use my health insurance for therapy?
Absolutely not; paying out of pocket is fine.
Are you offering in-person services right now?
As of August 2022, we are offering limited in-person services in our downtown Evanston office to fully vaccinated clients. Please ask our reception staff about which therapists have openings for in-person services. All MPA staff are fully vaccinated. In accordance with the Illinois Department of Public Health and CDC guidelines, therapists and clients must wear masks in MPA offices including during their sessions. We have masks available in our waiting room if you need one.
Do you offer free consultations to see if it is a good fit for therapy?
We offer free, 15-minute consultations.
