Providing therapy for Chicago adolescents and adults.

“I believe the foundation of therapy begins with the shared relationship between the client and clinician. In our sessions, a client can expect to find a safe space in which they can feel unrestricted and open to share their experiences and thoughts free of judgement. In showing each individual complete compassion, acceptance, and empathy my clients are able to process past and present occurrences all while feeling heard and understood.
“My own life experiences and diverse background as an African American woman has enabled me with the insight and understanding to the many barriers faced by individuals of differing ethnicities and client’s experiencing such obstacles. I utilize an eclectic approach to therapy by pulling from a variety of evidence-based practices and framing these approaches to fit the needs of each individual. Working through a multicultural lens I will incorporate Strength-Based approaches, cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), and mindfulness techniques to guide clients in identifying thought patterns, obtaining goals, regulation of emotions, and drawing upon self-awareness.
“All of this work can be done while focusing on the strengths that can be found within each person and providing them with the coping skills needed to live a content and meaningful life.”
