Providing therapy to Evanston children, adolescents, and adults.

“I believe that a strong, supportive therapeutic relationship is the cornerstone of all change. Therefore, I practice from a Rogerian Client-Centered perspective, emphasizing empathy, unconditional positive regard, and genuineness. I also incorporate behavioral interventions and elements of acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT). I aim to be helpful and supportive with my clients, no matter their presenting issues or goals.
“As a trans man, I find myself in a somewhat unique position to provide competent, compassionate, understanding care to those exploring their gender identity or presentation, as well as those who identify as trans or gender diverse.
“With children and some adolescents I employ non-directive play therapy. Because I believe that healthy parent-child relationships are paramount to a child’s functioning, I am careful to involve a child’s caregivers in the therapeutic process at all times, so that they can fully support the child as he or she practices their newly gained coping skills outside of the office. I am a gamer and will integrate concepts from gaming in therapy when appropriate, and find this especially helpful when working with teens.”
