Dr. Amanda R. Lorenz, Evanston Psychologist

Providing therapy for Evanston adolescents and adults.

"People face difficult emotions and thoughts in their lives. The journey through these challenging times should not have to be alone. In therapy, I offer support and guidance in how to navigate through life. Together, we explore relevant current, developmental, and environmental factors in order to identify areas where change is and is not possible. Learning to accept what we cannot change will allow us to productively focus on what we can change. We will then work collaboratively to strengthen coping skills and make meaningful life changes. In therapy, I adopt a holistic approach to understand my clients and then employ evidence based practices (such as CBT, DBT, ACT, Mindfulness) to achieve therapy goals."

Specialties

Trauma, addictions, mood disorders, grief, college/graduate student mental health, chronic/comorbid medical conditions, couples therapy, personality disorders, spirituality/religion (at my client’s discretion) and psychological testing and assessment
